A minute with Ralphy McNeill
Sorry folks my Nikon CoolPix 8800 Digital Camera is in the repair shop due to "over usage". Hence ther is no picture of me in the upper right corner of this article. I will tell you why it was "over used".
A friend who I met on Yahoo! Chat told me about the SimuCon convention being held at the local exhebition center. Due to a fever he couldn't make it, so he asked me to go and take pictures of all the new gadgets and consoles. I agreed. In return he would send me the drivers to a program called Metascope Plus v1.3. Due to the method of upgrade, from version 1.27 to 1.28, the original drivers were deleted. Shortly after the v1.28 release, the company (EZ Logix) was baught by Krazy Dad. Krazy Dad seized support for version 1.27 focusing on the v 1.28 and soon to be 1.3.
To make a short story long, I upgraded to v1.3b. Version b is supported by Liniux. However it can also be used on Win XP, but the version 1.27 .dll files must be present, along with the 1.3b divers. Due to the upgrade however, the v1.27 .dlls were deleted, and due to Krazy Dad's lack of support, they are extremely difficult to find.
Any way, the camera overheated due to high ambient temperature. This may have been due to the fact that I had been using the TCON-17 (+ adapter) for the last few days, and had wrapped the camera in a plastic bag upon entry into the convention (no cameras inside the building). The alarm sensor was flashing, bud amidst the choas in the Nintendo DS Lite section, I payed little attention to anything not concerning the new console.
